In our hatha yoga sessions, we explore holding and moving in positions as described in the traditional hatha yoga texts.
Each session starts with a moments focus on the breath,
followed by slow movements with focus on awareness of both the body and
the internal dimensions. Positions are held for quite a long time, to
allow the body and mind to open up and change,
The purpose of the sessions, is to make the body more subtle,
strong and balanced. This is achived by focusing internally and
with the breath releasing tensions in muscles and joints. The tensions
are mostly heald by the nervous system, and with the mind's focus
through the breath we can reprogram the nerves and open up the body.
The breath and the postures also stimulates the energy flow, prana, in the body, with increased physical and emotional well being. The focused mind also settles and becomes more content.
