The Yoga Shala
The shala offers a view of the Baltic Sea behind rolling fields and cherry trees.

The shala, like the rest of the house, is built of ecological building materials. The walls and ceiling are insuladed with straw and the floor with baked clay balls, called leca. The walls are covered with three layers of a mix of mud, sand and cow dung, which is covered on the inside with a paint made of clay and caseine and on the outside with a paint of linseed oil, rye flour, Burnt Sienna Earth pigment and ironoxide.
The ceiling and floor are made of wood. The ceiling is treated with a soda mix with white pigment, and the floor with Auro floor oil and then soaped - many times.
The shala is heated with a tile stone wood burning stove and floor heat from the central mass stove.
Yoga is an old scientific and cultural tradition that offers methods for improving health, wholeness, integration, inner peace and strength.

We have built the shala for our own personal growth, as we want yoga to be an integrated part of our life style, which we want to share with others that want to study, explore and experience yoga in all its forms and expressions.

We hope all that come to Mudita will feel that this is a place for their personal development and integration through the various aspects of yoga.

We want to create a place together with the teachers and students that come here. A place where local and international explorers can mix and learn from each other on this interesting journey. We welcome suggestions and ideas of how this shala can develop in this direction.

Om Shanti.
